Hope Shows Sounds Off With Hope Rocks Campaign

Remedy Drive Shows to Benefit Prison Concerts for Illinois Inmates

In partnership with Family Friendly WIBI, Hope Shows kicks off the Hope Rocks Campaign this month with two concerts featuring Remedy Drive. Shows are scheduled for Monday, November 16, in Belleville, IL at St. Matthew United Methodist Church and Tuesday, November 17, in Springfield, IL at iWorship Center. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Word Records’ Remedy Drive will headline both dates. “Few people can talk about Hope like David Zach, lead singer of Remedy Drive,” states Hope Shows founder and president, Robyn Lyn. “Their song, ‘Hope,’ serves as the soundtrack to the mission of Hope Shows, reminding listeners that, ‘Hope’s not giving up.’”

Hope Shows & Hope Rocks Campaign

Hope Shows and the Hope Rocks Campaign are determined to get Christian music to where it’s most needed. The Hope Rocks Campaign raises awareness and support for Hope Shows events and resources, which are intended to advance the ministry of Christian music in hurting communities, including state and federal prisons and rehabilitation centers

The upcoming Hope Rocks events serve to entertain an emerging youth culture, as well as to educate a generation who may be unfamiliar with Chuck Colson, Prison Fellowship and prison ministry in general. The events will enlist support to bring Christian concerts to area prisons, surrounding these communities with the one Hope of healing championed by Christian music. The prison shows will connect the inmates to the artists behind the songs, as well as the radio personalities from their local Christian radio station.

Robyn states, “Christian radio will serve as a key partner in every Hope Shows event. Many of the prison facilities restrict access to listening devices for safety reasons, but permit the use of radio headsets. Christian artists and radio personalities can ‘visit’ inmates through a radio signal 24/7, living out Christ’s call to visit people in prison (Matthew 25) in ways almost no other media can duplicate.” Hope Shows prison events will also introduce the inmates to other ministry opportunities in their community.

Stained-Glass Hope

Along with a long history of event production experience, Robyn brings a passion for the message, the medium and the motive of Christian radio to the mission of Hope Shows. “My sins may be different and my consequences less restrictive, but pain and brokenness are universal.

“Short of God’s grace and protection, anyone’s life choices could place them in prison, rehab or other circumstances that separate them from the their community of choice,” states Robyn. “We all are in desperate need of hope, and Christian music reminds us of the only Hope in which we can place our trust. Hope in anything else defers this trust and makes our hearts sick. (Proverbs 13:12)”

“It’s amazing how God can take the broken pieces of our past and put them together into a new picture, a new purpose,” states Robyn. “He’s pieced together a long-held concern for prison communities and a personal struggle with depression with a comprehensive event production background and a passion for Christian music in order to create the unique music ministry of Hope Shows. I’m just thankful for the opportunity to participate.”

It Takes an Industry

Hope Shows events won’t happen in a vacuum. Each prison concert will require a team of managers, booking agents, artists, recording labels, sound companies, churches and prison officials, in addition to Christian radio, to pull off unique events in unique settings. Creative Artists Agency (CAA) booking, Mantle Music management, Reach Communications (Minneapolis, MN) and Output Unlimited (Alton, IL) are partnering with WIBI, Family Friendly 91.5 WCIC and the Lincoln Correctional Center, a medium-security women’s facility, to bring in INO Records’ Sara Groves during her upcoming Christmas tour.

In addition to prison ministry, Sara Groves has acted on her support for International Justice Mission (IJM), promoted during the 2008 Art*Music*Justice tour with Brandon Heath, et. al., and Food for the Hungry. During a 2009 visit with Food for the Hungry in Rwanda, Sara and her family worked on clean water projects and spent time with the village children. States Robyn, “Sara has put some feet on music ministry as she advocates for communities in need. I can’t think of a better artist to kick off the Hope Shows prison ministry events.”

Isaiah 61:1 states, “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted … and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Christian music has the ability to surround, remind, encourage and motivate the broken individuals and hurting communities as they seek healing in challenging circumstances.

A familiar worship song from Tim Hughes, “God of Justice,” calls Christians to “stand beside the broken.” WIBI, WCIC and Hope Shows have partnered to do just that, and invite others to stand with them.

November Hope Rocks Concerts

In addition to Remedy Drive, the upcoming Hope Rocks events will also feature regional favorites at the upcoming concerts. The Belleville show welcomes The Great Romance and Kaleb Krueger Band. Springfield will host Photoside Café and Royal Tailor Band.
Spend an evening with Hope Monday, November 16, at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Belleville, IL or Tuesday, November 17, at iWorship Center in Springfield, IL … and pay Hope backward for Illinois prisons.

Tickets are available on iTickets.com (Belleville | Springfield). Tickets for the Belleville show may also be purchased at On a Leap of Faith in Swansea, IL and Sonshine Unlimited in Granite City, IL. Springfield tickets may be purchased at iWorship Center, Family Christian Store (Springfield) and Mustard Seed Outlet. A love offering will be collected to bring Christian concerts to Illinois prisons.
